Deacon John Boswell Ashley, 92 of Green Cove Springs died at his daughters home Monday, June 28, 2010. Mr. Ashley was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 29, 1918 to the late Charles and Marie (Blair) Ashley. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ashley was a Manager in Retail and had moved to Green Cove Springs 2 years ago from Binghamton, NY where he was also a Deacon in his church. Mr. Ashley had been attending the St. Lukes Catholic Church in Middleburg and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph. His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret and their daughter Anne Marie Winnie both of Green Cove Springs; siblings, Allan Ashley of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts and Hazel VanDyke of Haines City, FL. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Ashley and Megan. A Funeral Mass for Mr. Ashley will be held at the St. Lukes Catholic Church in Middleburg on Saturday, July 10, 2100 at 11 Oclock. Burial will be at a later date.
