John L Bentley, 89 of Keystone, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.Born on May 30, 1935, in Jacksonville, FL to the late Joseph Bentley and Allie Dempsey Bentley, after serving a few years in the Coast Guard, Mr. Bentley worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida as a manager and retired after 43 years of service. He was an avid oil painter and enjoyed painting portraits, landscapes and animal scenes. John L loved camping at the jetties in Jacksonville, hunting, fishing, archery, golfing and just spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Willie and Archibald, sisters; Allie Mae Green and Betty Joe Hash.John L is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Janet H. Bentley of Keystone, two children: Debra Bentley Suter (Donald) and Douglas Bentley both of Keystone, two grandchildren: Dalton John Suter and Tara Ramirez (Ray), great-grandchildren: Bella, Manuel and Emilio, step-granddaughter: Kristin Suter (Maria), step-grandson: Christopher Suter (Meryl), step-great-grandchildren: Lee, Elise and Dylan, step-great-great-granddaughter: Jasper, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at Jacksonville Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
