John "Leslie" Bradley

Mr. John "Leslie" Bradley, Sr. age 89, of Starke passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Starke after an extended illness. He was born on September 21, 1928 in Raiford to the late James M. Bradley, Sr. and Lizzie Mae (Treadwell) Bradley. Mr. Bradley was a former boy scout and past Master of Masonic Lodge #282 in Raiford. He was a resident of Kingsley Lake before moving to Starke 35 years ago. Leslie was a member of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church where he served as Adult Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years, and Music Leader for 15 years. Prior to retirement, he worked as a Mechanical Supervisor for Dupont Mining Company for 35 years. He was instrumental in establishing Kingsley Lake Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief for 13 years. Leslie also volunteered at Theressa Fire Department for 14 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Evelyn W. Bradley of Starke; son, John L. Bradley, Jr. (Nancy) of Greensboro, Georgia; daughter, Melanie B. Waters (Michael) of Middleburg; sister, Carolyn B. OGuinn of Lake City; and sister-in-law, Martha Warren of Jacksonville. Also left are three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30 am at Kingsley Lake Baptist Church on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 am with Pastor Jonathan Rodriguez officiating.
