Mr. John Mitchell Brown, age 60 of Archer, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Haven Hospice Chiefland Care Center. He was born on June 12, 1952 in Palatka, and was a Baptist. Mr. Brown worked several years for Crawford Construction and served in the National Guard after high school. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a passion for baseball and animals. He was preceded in death by his father, Mitchell Brown; brothers, Larry Charles Brown, Eddie Dyal and a sister, Elaine Brown. Mr. Brown is survived by his mother, Katherine Brown of Lawtey, his faithful companion of 18 years, Sylvia Wilson of Archer, son: Kelly Brown and wife, Sharon of Hampton, daughters: Minnie Broughton and husband, Robert of Lake Butler and Stephanie Goodman and husband, Randy of Bronson, a sister, Debbie Browning and husband, Vollie of Starke, 6 grandchildren, including, Justin Grant, Cheyenne Evans, AJ Brown, and Annalei Brown. He is also survived by a large extended family and a special nephew, Charlie Brown and great-nephew, Tripp Brown. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Northside Baptist Church with Brother Larry Finley and Brother Gary Melvin officiating.
