John William Card Funeral services for John William Card, 78, who died May 18, 2012, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM from the graveside in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mr. Card was born in Binghamton, New York and was a resident of Jacksonville, Florida since 1970. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having retired after 30 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, the late Sarah L. Card; Survivors include his step daughter, Sandra F. McCommon; step son, William N. McCommon; 1 sister, Barbara C. Lansford; 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
