John Michael Carlson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Michael Carlson, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who departed this life on July 25, 2026. Born on August 15, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, John dedicated his life to his family and his career as a Body Shop Manager in the automotive industry. Known for his unwavering work ethic and his warm-hearted nature, he touched the lives of many throughout his journey.

John is survived by his son, John Darren Carlson; his daughter, Michelle Carlson; his granddaughter, Erica Nikki Wellenreiter; his grandson, Maxwell Smith and his great-grandchild, Avery Wellenreiter. Each of these dear family members will miss the love and guidance of a remarkable elder.

In honor of John’s life, a celebration of life will be held at Jones - Gallagher Funeral Home on August 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM Eastern Time.
