JOHN HENRY CHRISTMAS, JR. died in Gainesville, Florida Sunday, 28 July 2024, he was 84 years old. John was born December 30, 1939 in Alabama, son of John Henry Christmas and Mary Morris.He is survived by his wife Vicky, daughters Carole Collier, Kay Chancey, son John "Hank" Christmas III, brother Bobby Christmas, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Mr. Christmas graduated Coral Gables High School, attended Stetson College in Deland, and graduated from University of Miami Herbert Business School. Following college John was driven by an entrepreneurial spirit to launch several successful business ventures including a home security contracting company which he operated for 37 years. He lived in Gainesville, Florida most of his working life, moving to Interlachen several years ago. John loved music and served as the music director for Coconut Grove Baptist, North Hialeah Baptist, Homestead Baptist, Flagami Baptist Church and Carol Estates Baptist Church in Gainesville. He loved the outdoors, especially watersports and was an avid Gator Football fan. John will be laid to rest beside his parents in the Forest Meadows Cemetery, Gainesville, Florida.
