Mr. John "Tommy" Cox, Jr. age 84 of Melrose passed away at his home Wednesday, December 6, 2023. He was born October 26, 1939. In Jacksonville to John T. and Ruth (Hartley) Cox, Sr. Prior to retirement Tommy worked for Midstate Electrical Company as their Electrical Estimator. He was an active and long time member of Melrose Church of Christ. Tommy loved to socialize and enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at the Keystone Inn. He loved his Country and being on the lake, as well as watching college football especially the Florida Gators. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Bonnye (Duerr) Cox. His survivors are his children John T. Cox, III of Melrose, and Natalie Cox-Andrews (Ray) of Keystone Heights. Also left behind are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
