Mr. John Sparks Daniel, 89 surrounded by his family, made his final journey to heaven October 2, 2010. He was born in Tennille, GA on October 12, 1920. He moved to Jacksonville, FL at the age of 6. After graduating from Lee High School in 1939, he attended Stetson University. He was in the Navy and Navy Reserves for 25 years. Followed by his long career as a pilot with Pan American Airways, where he retired as a captain in 1980. John was an alumni of the American Red Cross Lifesaving Corp and belonged to the Keystone Heights Sportsmans Club, Cracker Boy Hunting Club, Keystone Heights Golf and Country Club, Retired Airline Pilots Association, and Keystone Heights United Methodist Church. John is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Flo; his devoted sons Michael and Gary (Kathie); granddaughters Christie (Neil), GJ (Robert), and Kimberly; and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Keystone Heights United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Corbit officiating, preceded by a family visitation from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
