John F. Dixon John F. Dixon, born September 21, 1927, passed away November 30, 2012. He was the son of the late Cecil and Letha Dixon of Wilmington, NC. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, June Greenlee Dixon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, John Jr. of Dallas, TX, and Jane Dillard of Jacksonville, FL, son-in-law Richard Dillard, grandchildren, Abby and Blaine Dillard, a sister Letha Mae Walker and a brother Cecil Dixon. He is predeceased by brothers Richard and Harold. He was born and raised in Wilmington, NC, and graduated from New Hanover High School where he was a member of the ROTC. His career with the Atlantic Coastline Railroad began in Wilmington, NC, and ended with his retirement in Jacksonville, FL, after 43 years of dedicated service. During his time with the railroad, he held several roles representing progressive career advancement. He served in the Presbyterian Church as an usher, was an avid bridge player, created a special BBQ sauce, and enjoyed working outside in the yard which is one of his many legacies. He loved his family and always put them first. Special thanks to the staff at Regents Park and Community Hospice. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday December 5, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery.
