John J. Fotinopoulos was born in Greece on August 29, 1929. He moved to Canada as a young man, before settling in Gainesville, Florida, in 1973. John was preceded in death by his parents, Panayiotis and Asimina Fotinopoulos, four brothers and a sister. He is survived by his sister Helen Scourtis, several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as several great friends who cared for him and helped him enormously in his later years. John had a great passion for cooking and gardening, a love of politics and love for all of his extended family and friends. He was a beloved member of St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church of Gainesville for many years. His kind and warm heart will be missed by all who knew him.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M.
