John "Bob" Kinsey

Mr. John Robert "Bob" Kinsey age 74 of Keystone Heights passed away unexpectedly at his home Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was born December 3, 1944, in Columbus, Georgia to Arthur and Eula Mae (Spann) Kinsey. Mr. Kinsey graduated from Columbus High School, earned his Bachelors degree from Mercer University and served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army. After his military service he began his long time corporate career working with Sears and Roebuck. Following his retirement from Sears and his return to the Keystone area, he became the grounds keeper for Keystone Heights High School, which he loved dearly. He was honored and privileged to be asked to be the "Voice of the Indians" for the athletic teams for over 23 years; as well as the Nomenclator for many years of graduation ceremonies. Bob was a member of Keystone Heights United Methodist Church. He was an avid fan of high school, college and professional sports. He enjoyed traveling and loved living on Lake Santa Fe where he would sit on the porch and read. Most of all he loved being with his family and encouraging his granddaughters to be the best they can be. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother. Mr. Kinsey leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years Gilda (Faircloth) Kinsey of Keystone Heights and their two daughters Amy Kinsey of Gainesville and Kimberly Harrison of Keystone Heights; and his three precious granddaughters Katherine, Trista and Isabelle Harrison. He also left behind his brother in-law Gary Faircloth of Melrose, his nephew Adam Faircloth of Macclenny and his niece Emily Faircloth of New Jersey. Visitation for Bob will be held Friday, February 15, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. in the Keystone United Methodist Church MMC Building. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019, in the KUMC MMC Building with Reverend Jeff Tate officiating. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
