John William Long

Mr. John William Long, age 65 of Graham, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville. Mr. Long was born on May 9, 1953 in Graysville, TN to the late Edgar and Ruth "Garrin" Long. John was a long-time resident of Graham, and retired from the V.A. Hospital where he worked as a Cardiac Technician. He enjoyed reading his bible and was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church of Starke. John loved working with his hands and built the last two homes he and his wife, Lyn Long, lived in.He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Long; parents, Edgar and Ruth "Garrin" Long; sisters, Sherry Burton and Audrey Burton; and his brother, Chris Long. Survivors include, his wife, Lyn Long of Graham; daughter, Cassie Long of Graham; sister, Becky of Starke; brother, Glenn Long; brother-on-law, Victor (Patty) Glisson of Nashville, TV; and sister-in-law, Debbie "Glisson" Wales of Starke. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Santa Fe Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Victor Glisson.
