Mr. John F. Pitts, Sr. age 88 of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014 in Gainesville. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland September 4, 1925 to the late Leonard and Bertha (Housman) Pitts and had moved to Keystone Heights from Largo in June. Mr. Pitts had served in the United States Navy as a Photographer and continued his photography career in the Civil Service. He was of the Lutheran Faith and was attending the Keystone United Methodist Church; he enjoyed traveling, gardening, and had been on 58 cruises. Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mildred (Nester) and their three children, Fred Pitts, Jr. of Keystone Heights, Ron Pitts of Weverton, MD, and Paul Pitts of Nokesville, VA along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in the Keystone United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Craig Moore and Dr. Tom Farmer officiating.
