John Ruffini age 90 of Keystone Heights passed away at his home Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born July 1, 1929, in Lisbon, Ohio to Able and Edith (Beryl) Ruffini and was a Navy Seabee. John received his Masters Degree from Penn State and was a Phi Beta Kappa. He retired as an Engineer from DuPont following more than 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Keystone United Methodist Church, J.A.G.A., and a former city councilman. John was an avid golfer, enjoyed running, traveling to Maine and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Marilyn (Nation) Ruffini and a brother Robert Ruffini. Left behind are his daughters, Michelle "Shelley" Ruffini of Keystone Heights and Linda Ruffini and Erik Nelson of Tampa. John was lovingly called "Poppa" by his grandchildren Madina Ruffini and John Ruffini. Also left behind are close friends Dr. Robert Slaton and Bud Mizell with a host of additional special family and friends. The family will be having a private burial at the Keystone Heights Cemetery and a public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
