Johnnie Maze Leneave

Mr. Johnnie Maze LeNeave, Jr age 82 of Lawtey passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Gainesville. Johnnie was born on March 21, 1937 in Kinston, NC. Following high school Johnnie served four years in the United States Air Force, before working as an auto body mechanic. In 1969 Johnnie and his wife, of 60 years, Myrtle "Gurthie" moved to Lawtey where he worked 29 years for UCI. Johnnie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family.He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie M. LeNeave, Sr; mother, Lila Hill; and his sister Evelyn Connelly. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle LeNeave of Lawtey; children, Richard (Mary) LeNeave of High Springs and Kenneth (Tara) LeNeave of Keystone Heights; grandchildren, Kenneth LeNeave, Jr of New York, Ashlie (Jerry) Cornwall of Sampson City, and Amber (Jason) Godshall of Fanning Springs; and great-grandchildren, Kyrstin Cornwall, Kiera Cornwall, and McKenzie LeNeave.Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the DeWitt C.
