Jorge L. Suarez, age 57 of Gainesville, FL passed away on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014. He was born November 26, 1957, in Cuba to parents Gregorio Suarez (deceased) and Eneida Suarez. He came to the US with his family in 1964. Jorge proudly served his country in the United States Army, joining right out of high school. He became a U.S. citizen in 1986. He fulfilled a lifelong passion to become a pilot and had a spotless 30-year record as a captain flying 747s.In 1988 he married Michele Denton, his loving wife of 25 years, they moved to Florida in 1989 to be near family. When not flying, Jorge enjoyed woodworking, and camping with his family. He is survived by his wife, Michele Suarez, son Gregorio, daughter Cristina, his brother, Frank Suarez all of Gainesville, FL, and his mother Eneida Suarez of Miami, Fl. and a host of loving family and friends.Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, January 24, 2014, at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, there will be a visitation one hour prior starting at noon.
