Joseph
Castronovo
Jul 30, 1947 — Mar 21, 2026
It is with great love and cherished memories that we celebrate the life of Joseph Peter 'Joe' Castronovo, who passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on July 30, 1947, in Englewood, New Jersey, Joseph lived an extraordinary life that touched the hearts of many.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Joe enlisted on January 8, 1968, and served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a Seabee (Naval Construction Force), embarking on a journey that instilled in him a sense of discipline and service he carried throughout his life. After his honorable service in the Navy, Joe attended the University of Florida to pursue a career as a civil engineer. He worked for CH2M HILL for 32 years before taking his talents to AECOM Engineering in Fort Worth, Texas. While there, he was presented with a prestigious national award for pipeline design by the American Society of Civil Engineering. His commitment to excellence and innovation made a lasting impact on every community he served.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Margo Castronovo, whose love and partnership enriched his life; his son, Anthony Castronovo; and his daughters, Tina Cousins and Monica Gibson, as well as his sons-in-law, Mike Cousins and Mark Roncskevitz, who always brought him joy and pride. Joe is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Tyler Cousins, Ryan Roncskevitz, Robert Roncskevitz, Emma Cousins, and Raya and Leo Castronovo, all of whom were the twinkles in his eye and the source of endless joy. Additionally, his dear brother, Ken, and his wife Heidi Castronovo, sister-in-law, Kay West, brother-in-law Nick West, and a number of loving cousins, all of whom were a source of unwavering support and love throughout his life. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Connie Castronovo, and his brother, Charlie Castronovo.
The family invites all who knew and loved Joe to join them in celebrating his remarkable life. There will be a Family Viewing at Evans Carter Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm, providing an opportunity for loved ones to share memories and comfort one another.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Madeleine Catholic Church on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10:30 am, where friends and family will come together to honor his legacy, followed by military honors during a graveside service at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Archer. Joe's generous spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed but will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Let us celebrate his life, honoring the love he shared and the memories we hold dear.
