Joseph Roy Curtner

Joseph Roy Curtner, age 79 of Starke passed away in Orange Park on Saturday, July 3, 2021. Joe was born on October 11, 1941 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to the late William Roy and Thelma "Cook" Curtner. Mr. Curtner worked in the steel industry for over 50 years working for Owen Joist, CMC Joist, and in 2012 he retired from Division 5 Steel. Joe was also a faithful member of Bradford Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Brenda Gail Curtner, Tammy Jo Curtner and Deborah Elaine Meng; and his brother, Carl Frederick Curtner. Survivors include his wife Gertrude Johnson Curtner; daughter, Lorraine Curtner; brother, Archie Daniel Curtner; grandchildren, Sebastian Curtner and Michael Joseph Meng; and nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on July 9, 2021, at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Rick Jackson and Pastor Roman Alvarez officiating. Burial will be at Elzey Chapel Cemetery in Lake Butler.
