A Life Well LivedJoseph Vernon Starling was born on April 26, 1952 to Vernon Leo Starling and Betty Lee Starling in Gainesville, Florida. Vernon also known as "Dick" and Betty had 2 more beautiful daughters.Brenda Starling who later married Robert Rosier.Nora Starling who later married Kenny Thompson.Joseph grew up in a family, where he learned how to work hard, accomplish much and value the things in life that were important. He learned that everything in life revolves around "His Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ." It wasnt just a faith, It is a relationship, a way of life that touches who you are and permeates into every part of your being and your family.He loved His Family very much, He enjoyed spending time with his Sons in the Woods when they were logging - He was very much an outdoors person. He enjoyed farming, taking care of the Cows. He took pride in his job at DuPont for 40 years - he always wanted the job done right. Through those years he trained many young men to follow in his footsteps and enjoyed sharing that knowledge.He loved His Church Family very much. Joseph was a member and Deacon of Northside Baptist Church for the last 17 years. In the preceding years he was a part of Bible Baptist Church, Highland Baptist and First Baptist Church of Lawtey. He helped to build, remodel and take pride in repairing the Lords churches. He ran a Bus Route that picked up boys & girls and brought them to Gods House.It was at First Baptist Church where he met the Love of his life that would prove to stand "The test of time." He married Brenda Carol Holmes on July 19, 1974 and this year they celebrated 40 years of Marriage.God blessed them with (6) Children - and (1) Grandson all from Lawtey,1.Joseph David Starling, Tabitha Ritz Starling & Hunter David Starling2.Pamela Anne Starling & Christopher Burnham3.Greg Alan Starling & Annette Rhan StarlingDaddy will always very much be a part of his children lives, because he has taken the time to instill his values into them. They are so much like him, in so many ways.Theyve grew up in a family, where they have learned how to work hard, accomplish much and value the things in life that were important. They learned to work side by side with Him, constantly learning new things. They learned that no matter how busy Daddy was - every years He took a week off and took them on vacation for Family Fun Time, usually in the mountains.When he crossed over into Heaven on December 2, 2014, his family was all by His side and He wouldnt have had it any other way.Funeral Services will be held at Northside Baptist Church on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 12PM. Visitation will be from 11AM-12PM leading up to the service. A private, family only, burial will take place following the service at Starling Family Cemetery.
