Joyce D. Fitzpatrick Joyce D. Fitzpatrick was born July 15, 1928 and passed away on December 7, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, Sidney and Irma Hartwell, and her brother, S. Neal Hartwell. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert J. Fitzpatrick, her daughter, Ellen Fitzpatrick Milligan; as well as her sister, Joan Hartwell Crawford, nieces and nephews, and their children.Joyce will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and educator. She received her Bachelor's Degree in education at Carthage College, and her Masters in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.Upon retirement and the move to Florida, she became an active volunteer including Southside Newcomers' Club, President; The St. Johns River City Band Guild, Treasurer; Meals on Wheels; and tutoring at Loretto Elementary. She had been a member of the AAUW, Mandarin Community Club, and Mandarin Museum & Historical Society. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 14, at the Mandarin Cemetery on Mandarin Road. In lieu of flowers, please forward a donation in her memory to either Wolfson Childrens' Hospital or Northeast Florida Community Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
