Joyce Louise Mikell

Mrs. Joyce Louise Mikell age 92, of Keystone Heights passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Starke. She was born February 21, 1926 in Jacksonville to George "Curtis" and Myrtle (Williamson) Godwin. Mrs. Mikell grew up in Jacksonville and played the piano while her husband led the singing at Cedar Creek Baptist Church for over 25 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and for many years she worked at the Childrens Farm. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Franklin J. Mikell, Sr. Mrs. Mikell is survived by her son Frank (Marie) Mikell of Melrose; two grandchildren Jamee Mikell and Jodi Geiger and five great grandchildren Ryan Miller, Emma Geiger, Ella Geiger, Josie Geiger and Sam Mikell. Also left behind are her two great-great grandchildren Makenna Miller and Maciah Miller. Viewing for Mrs. Mikell will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018, in Trinity Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Denmark and Pastor Scott Stanland officiating. Entombment will be private at Riverside Memorial Park.
