Longtime Keystone Heights resident Judith Lee "Judy" Dany Taylor died on April 4, 2017, in Gainesville, Fla., following a lengthy illness. She was 80.Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Judy grew up on a farm in Brecksville, Ohio, where she enjoyed riding and showing horses. She was a 1955 graduate of Brecksville High School, and attended Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She resided in Brecksville until 1965, when she and her family moved to Aurora, Ohio, where for the next 10 years she was involved in a variety of local civic activities.In 1975 she relocated to Gainesville, Fla., where she lived until 1997 when she moved to a lakeside home in Keystone Heights, Fla. For many years she was executive assistant for IMS Corporation in Gainesville, and later owned a Bekins Moving and Storage franchise in Gainesville.She was a passionate contract bridge player for most of her life and also enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and spending time with her family, friends, and many dogs and cats over the years.Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan Voorheis. She is survived by son Kevin Smith of Keystone Heights, Fla.; son Brian Smith, daughter-in-law Paula, granddaughter Laurence, and grandson Cohen, all of Ocoee, Fla.; son Stephen Smith and granddaughter Alexis Smith of Salem, Ore.; brother Eric Dany and sister-in-law Linda of Moline, Ill., and niece Erica (Erick) Dalburg and two grand-nieces, all of Bettendorf, Iowa.
