Judy C. Thomas of Gainesville, Florida died September 3, 2024 in Clermont, Florida after an extended illness of cancer. She was 75 years old.Ms. Thomas was born in Wynne, AR in 1949. She moved to Gainesville in 1986 after living in Arkansas, Canada, Minnesota, Africa, and Washington.She was an elementary school teacher in Canada and at Wiles Elementary School in Gainesville, FL. Ms. Thomas was a master teacher who taught in many venues including University City Church of Christ who was her church family. She taught children and ladies classes, Lads 2 Leaders, and classes at Florida Bible Camp in addition to teaching her own children many life lessons. Through her teaching endeavors, she shared her love of education with many people, encouraging them to love learning and the subjects she taught.At various times, she prepared food for Ronald McDonald House, Hope Lodge, St. Francis House, and House of Hope. Before her onset of cancer, Ms. Thomas donated blood often, almost reaching the 5 galloneer stage.Survivors include her daughter, Jana Coffey of MD; her son, Justin Thomas of FL; and her sisters, Holly Allen of TN and Gena Granberg of WA.In lieu of flowers, Ms. Thomas requested Memorials be made to, Florida Bible Camp, 2087 SE Bible Camp St., High Springs, FL 32643The Memorial Service originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct 12 at 11 a.m. at University City Church of Christ, HAS BEEN POSTPONED.
