Obituary

Julia Harriet Robbins passed away suddenly on October 18, 2014 due to complications from Type 1 diabetes. Julia was born in Newton, MA in 1959 to Richard and Leona Robbins. Dr. Robbins was a Sociology professor and provided Julia and her older sister Genna opportunities to travel and live in France, Spain, Holland, Germany and England. Julia received her B.A. degree in English from UMass-Boston and two M.S. degrees from UMass-Boston and Simmons College. She was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and spent over a quarter century helping people with general therapy and specializing in alcohol, drug, and gambling addictions. Like her mother, Julia was very involved in the arts. She was an avid painter and writer, and sang professionally earlier in her career. Julia had a unique personality and a great sense of humor and was loved by people who knew her. She'll be remembered also for her love of the Red Sox and for being "Boston Strong." She is survived by her husband Robert Meagher, her daughter Hannah Robbins, both of Gainesville, her sister Genna Robbins of Walpole, MA, and her nieces Elizabeth Spear, Emily Spear, Erin Meagher, Lily Meagher and Lacy Meagher and nephews Steven Reed, Jordan Reed, and Andrew Meagher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Funeral Home Forest Meadows Funeral Home 725 NW 23rd Avenue Gainsville FL - 32609 US 352-378-2528
