Dr. Julian M. Aviles age 81 of Macclenny, Florida passed away in Orange Park on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Dr. Aviles was born on May 9, 1940 in Holguin, Cuba to the late Julian A. Aviles Cruz and Estrella Aviles Suarez. Dr. Aviles attended medical school in Spain before beginning his medical career at the Massachusetts State Prison. He later moved to Miami where he worked at the Victoria Hospital. In 1982 he moved to Raiford, Florida where he worked for UCI for over 30 years. Dr. Aviles also worked for Northeast Florida State Hospital up until his passing. Julian was a dedicated doctor that truly loved his job. He enjoyed dancing, telling jokes, had a magnetic personality and he never met a stranger.He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Sofia Rodriguez. Survivors include his brothers, Omar and Danilo Aviles; cousins, Raimundo Aviles, Emilio Ortiz and Carlos Rodriguez.Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the DeWitt C.
