It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of June Harriet Deckert, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully in her sleep on November 29, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 15, 1933, in Jacksonville, Florida, June remained a cherished member of her community throughout her life.
June is survived by her loving husband, of 73 years, Billy Deckert and their three children, Jimmy Deckert (Debbie), Robin Douberly (Dan) and Ronnie Deckert (Cindy). She was a devoted grandmother to her 7 grandchildren, Shane (Kristin), Melissa, Brianna (Nate), Summer (Mike), Tony (Kaileigh), and Kelly (Ivan); 8 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Logan, Nolan, Ava, Kallie, Lannie, Maverick, and Calvin, who brought her immense joy and a profound sense of pride.
June was preceded in death by her son, Tony Deckert; granddaughter, Nicole Deckert; parents, Harry and Geraldine Mier; 1 brother, Jerry; 5 sisters, Gin, Beth, Dadie, JoAnn, and Darlene.
June embodied compassion and kindness. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, warmth, and endless love. She had a special gift for making each person feel valued and cherished. Her infectious spirit and wisdom left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in the Chapel of Moloney-Hewell Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey L. Stafford officiating.
As we reflect on June Harriet Deckert's life, we remember her as a beacon of love and strength. May her memory continue to inspire us, particularly in our moments of need. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
