June Delores Trent Dennis 89 passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, September 6, 2020, surrounded by family.She was born on July 22, 1931, in Majestic, Kentucky to parents, Melvin Norris and Myrtle Louise (Garst) Trent.June was a former LPN at Shands Hospital in the early 60s. She left that career to be a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the Melrose Homemakers club and attended Eliam Baptist Church. June was a gentle soul with a kind and loving heart. While she lived on Hampton Street in Melrose she would be sure to take care of all the neighborhood senior citizens by cooking for them and taking her children to visit with them. June loved to travel, crochet and sew, but her favorite activity was tending to her yard, plants and flowers. Even on the hottest of Florida summer days, youd find her in the yard with a hose or a rake in hand. She had a profound appreciation for nature.In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her bother Eugene Trent. June is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James F. Dennis, Sr., two daughters Muriel Clear (Rich) of Maryville, TN, Lisa (Herbie) Horne and son Jimmy (Tanya) Dennis all of Melrose. June also leaves behind her 6 amazing grandchildren Luke and Mallory Dennis, Chase and Caroline Clear, Olivia and Victoria Horne and we cannot forget to include her devoted dog, Cricket. Her brother James Edward Trent is 94 and resides with his daughter in Florida.Services will be held at 12 noon in the Keystone United Methodist Church Thursday, September 10, 2020. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Eliam Cemetery in Melrose.In lieu of flowers the family request that you send donations to Haven Hospice or to a Shriners Hospital for Children.Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 340 E.
