Drohan, Karen JoyceFuneral services for Mrs. Karen Joyce Kadel Drohan, 64, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard South, with Rev. Dr. Arlinda Burks of Arlington United Methodist Church officiating. There will be a viewing and visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Jake Jones, Michael Stone, Michael Simmons, J.C. Claxton, Randy Jones and Jackson Jones. Burial will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery.Mrs. Drohan was born August 2, 1957 in Miami, Florida to Frances and Paul Kadel. She died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home in Eatonton, Georgia following an 11 year courageous battle with breast cancer.Mrs. Drohan was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Michael Paul Kadel and her nephew, Pierce Hazleton. Survivors include her husband, Michael Pierce Drohan; her mother-in-law, Betty Schnitzer; her sisters-in-law, Cheryl Claxton (JC), Deedee Wilson, Lisa Dean and Christine Jones (Randy); her nieces and nephews, Erin Soles, Lauren Shivers, Natalie Adair, Michael Stone, Brittany Perez, Matthew Dean, Jake Jones, Jaycie Jones, Jackson Jones and Josh Jones; eleven great-nieces and nephews along with many friends who she always treated as family.She loved sewing, quilting and making treasured items for family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. Her favorite pastime, however, was spending quality time with family at her beautiful home on Lake Sinclair.
