Karen Harrell Lewis, 83, of Fort White, Florida passed away on June 3, 2024. Karen was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 4, 1941 to Orbra W. Harrell and Mary Agnes Harrell. Karen was married to James N. Lewis, Jr. They were married for 31 years.Karen graduated from the Panama City Bay Medical Center as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). She worked as a CRNA in Panama City, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and Birmingham, Alabama.Karent enjoyed traveling, sailing, gardening, and genealogy. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of Samford University, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Florida Pioneers, and Daughters of the Confederacy.An avid sailor and later RVer with a keen sense of adventure, she and her husband traveled Europe, the Caribbean and the United States enjoying the varied cultures and cuisines. At one point, she spent a year in Saudi Arabia working as a nurse anesthetist, exploring the Middle East and Africa. A devoted mother, loving wife and faithful friend, Karen overcame may obstacles maintaining her optimistic attitude. She is described as cheerful and outgoing to all who knew her.She is survived by her husband, James Lewis, Jr.; daughter, Cindy Reynolds (Jim) of Lake City; sons, David Logan (Beth) of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, James N.
