Kathleen V.
Brown
Feb 22, 1950 — Jun 6, 2025
Kathleen V. Brown passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a brief battle with cancer. Kathy was born February 22, 1950, the fourth of six children, in Jacksonville, Florida to Ernest and Velma Green.
Kathy is predeceased in death by her husband, Stanley J. Brown, parents, Ernest and Velma Green and brother, Fred Green.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Moore (Mike) and stepdaughter, Tammy Jones (Jim). Grandchildren; Jade Castro (Landon), Daniel Jones (Faith), Tim Jones (Jessica), Amanda Wilson (Andrew), Melody Sanchez (Jor-El) and nine great grandchildren. Siblings; Harvey E. Green (Marilyn), Jack E. Green (Cheryl), Brenda Mari and Janet Smith and many loved nieces and nephews and her friend and companion, Ronald Jones.
Kathy attended Samuel Wolfson High School and graduated in 1968. She worked in the advertising department at Sears & Roebuck in downtown Jacksonville until 1975. In 1983, she was employed by the Greater Jacksonville Fair Association in an administrative position after first starting out as the livestock secretary. Kathy enjoyed cooking and spent many years cooking on Wednesday nights at Englewood Christian Church. In 2003, she moved to Sandersville, Georgia and began many more years of cooking and catering at the First Baptist Church in Sandersville. While living in Georgia, she created a little bird sanctuary in her backyard. Every year hundreds of hummingbirds would return to her home for the summer. There were so many that she would have to refill 14 feeders twice a day. If she had to leave town for any reason, she would have to have someone take over and keep the feeders full. It was her full-time job during the summer, and she loved it. Later in life, she took up quilting, which really became her passion. She made many beautiful quilts for family, friends, babies and newly married couples. She always wanted to make something special to give to each one. Kathy was a very generous and giving person and loved by so many people. To know her was to love her!
