Obituary for Kathleen Annie Ihle Clore
Kathleen A Clore passed away at the age of 87 years at North Florida HCA hospital on May 3, 2026. She had been battling chronic heart and kidney failure. Kathy was born June 2, 1938 in Michigan, the daughter of William and Florence Ihle. Her father was a skilled carpenter and her mother was excellent at cooking and crafts. These characteristics had a strong influence on Kathy's life. She grew up in Cheyboygan Michigan and after graduating high school she moved to Ann Arbor Michigan taking a secretarial job at the University of Michigan. That is where she met her future husband, Forrest Clore, M.D. who was a medical student. A strong relationship developed which resulted in 67 years of marriage.
Kathy was a dedicated wife supporting her husband morally and financially as he completed medical school which resulted in his long, successful career as a medical doctor at the University of Florida Medical Center. The couple traveled extensively, enjoying domestic and international destinations, visiting multiple continents. Kathy was involved in all aspects of this adventure, taking care of all travel arrangements.
During the course of this 67 year marriage, Kathy had two children, a daughter Chris and a son David. She also has two granddaughters, Kristen and Destiny and a great grandson Robert.
Kathy had a long career in Girl Scouting, beginning as a troop leader along with daughter Chris, progressing to organizing multiple new troops then continuing on to regional leadership positions. All of this was done on a non-paid, voluntary basis. A highlight of this broad responsibility was the celebration of the 75th year of Girl Scouting in the USA. This involved the leasing of the O'Connell Center at the University of Florida to bring together hundreds of troops from a large regional area of North and Central Florida. This was a very big event celebrating the 75 years of Juliette Lowe's founding of the Girl Scout program.
In honoring Kathleen Clore, we share good memories and celebrate the life she lived which touched the lives of many family members and friends.
