Kathleen Peterson Lester

Mrs. Kathleen Nan Peterson Lester passed away on October 1, 2016. She is survived by her spouse Calvin L. Lester, children; William and Mary Gaines, Jennifer Gardner-Quartey, Erica Huffstetler and stepdaughter Crissy Lester. Kathleen is preceded in death by her mother Ruby Peterson-Stafford and stepfather Dave Stafford and sister Jacqueline Stafford. She is survived by her father Eddie L. Peterson, Sr., brothers; Khalil (Eddie) Ali and Rickie Peterson (Dolly), Sisters: Dorothy, Beverly, Carol and Gloria Peterson and Annette Lane, three grandchildren. Kathleen attended local schools and was a graduate of the Andrew Jackson High School class of 1979. She retired from the U.S. Army and went on to receive her BS degree in Accounting from Jones College and her Masters in Accounting from The University of Phoenix. She was a Department Manager at the Internal Revenue Service and a faithful member of The Englewood Christian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and an active volunteer in various other ministries.Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Road Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Senior Pastor Ken Gemeinhart officiating.A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 between the hours of 6:00-8:00 p.m. at George H.
