Kay Kitchens Mizell

Mrs. Kay Kitchens Mizell age 77, of Keystone Heights went to heaven, Sunday, June 12, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 6, 1939 in Anderson, South Carolina to the late John G. and Kathryn M. Kitchens. Mrs. Mizell was raised in Gainesville and attended the University of Florida.; she was a longtime resident of Keystone Heights and a housewife. First and foremost, Kay was a woman of deep faith in her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; her life was in harmony with and bore witness to this conviction. She was previously involved with Mother of Pre-Schoolers (M.O.P.S.), had lead Sunday School Classes and womens prayer groups, and was a student of the Bible, speaking and writing on a variety of topics. Mrs. Mizell will be remembered by the family and friends for her devotion, deep faith, intellect and wit. She will be sorely missed by those who had the blessing of knowing her. Mrs. Mizell is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, B.F. (Bud) Mizell, Jr. and their two sons, Charles E. Mizell of Keystone Heights and John B. Mizell (Marilyn) of Punta Gorda; two brothers, Dr. Craig S. Kitchens of Hayesville, NC and Glenn C. Kitchens of Tallahassee. Also left behind are two grandchildren, Benjamin and Mallory Mizell. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Keystone United Methodist Church with Dr. Tim Farmer officiating. The family will have a private burial at Forest Meadows Cemetery in Gainesville.
