Mrs. Kelsa Ellen Roberts Mrs. Kelsa Ellen Roberts, also known as Kelsa Ellen Forbes, age 84, of Green Cove Springs passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Community Hospice, Hadlow Center for Caring. Mrs. Roberts was born on April 18, 1926 in Grundy, Virginia to the late Abram and Mary Matney Compton and retired to Green Cove Springs from Dayton, Ohio in 1974. Kelsa was a Baptist and a Cosmetologist, and was very active in the Eastern Star Chapter of Green Cove Springs. She was preceded in death by siblings: Thurman Compton, John Ralph Compton, Jimmie Compton, Willie Compton, Hester Compton, and Marlene Neal. Survivors are: sister: Alma Sloan of Green Cove Springs; brothers: Mack Compton of Jeffersonville, KY; Leonard Compton of Arkansas; husband: Thomas Forbes. The family will receive friends at the HELM-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 1811 Idlewild Ave., Green Cove Springs 32043 on Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 3-5 PM. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the HELM-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
