Obituary

Dr. Kou-Roung Chang passed away on January 16th, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Shou-Mei, his two sons, Brian and Patrick, and daughter-in-law, Lin. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jean and Shu-Chin, and his two brothers, Kou-Shoung and Kou-Bin, in Taiwan. Born in Chang-Hua, Taiwan, K.R. immigrated to the United States in 1970 to pursue his graduate studies in civil engineering. After receiving his Ph.D., he moved to Gainesville in January, 1979, and started his civil engineering career at Ch2M HILL. He worked there for 35 years and was known as a highly successful, motivated and respected man throughout the company. One of his passions was traveling, and he had the opportunity to travel the world with his family every year. K.R. enjoyed the outdoors, playing tennis, basketball, jogging, cycling and gardening. He was known as an avid tennis player, and influenced the lives of many junior tennis players in Gainesville, especially his two sons. He loved watching Gator football and basketball games with friends and family. He was a very devoted husband and father and touched the lives of many.
