Larry Leon Girton, 79, of Gainesville, passed away September 22, 2012 at his home. Larry was born in Winchester, Indiana to Harold and Dorothy Girton and moved to Gainesville in 1974. He was a parts manager for Ford Dealerships and was also currently employed at Travel Media Distributors. Larry was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed Gator Sports and racing. Larry was preceded in death by sons Stephen and Fred Girton and sisters Joan Warren and Kay Butt. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice Girton, step son Daniel Simmons (Elizabeth) of Gainesville, sister Odema McCoy (Glen) of Greenville, Ohio, grandchildren Casey Dukes, Amy Wyche (Chris), Dustin Simmons, and great grandchild Aniya and Aubree.There will be no calling hours or services, per Larry's request.
