Mr. Larry Don MercerMr. Larry Don Mercer age 61, of Starke passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 following a long illness. Mr. Mercer was born on May 2, 1950 in Polk County and was a lifelong area resident. Prior to retirement he worked as a mechanic for DuPont and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Starke Golf & Country Club and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father Mickey Mercer. Survivors are: sons: Chad Mercer; Kyle Mercer; Jarred Mercer all of Starke; Mother Annie (Alvarez) Barker of Starke; sisters: Donna Wise of Starke; Dottie Faye Thomas of Orlando; granddaughter: Lily Mercer of Starke. The family will receive friends in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 3 oclock.
