Laura Jean Flanders, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully entered Heaven on January 6th, 2025. Born on February 18th, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, she spent her life in Vermont, Connecticut, Arizona, and for the past 46 years, made her home in Keystone Heights, Florida. Laura Jean was known for her unwavering love for God, her family and her church family. Her heart overflowed with affection for her plants, birds, and her fur baby Sox. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness and generosity. Her home was always open, and her heart forever welcoming. A woman of remarkable strength and grace, she faced each challenge with resilience and faith. Laura lived a life full of love and compassion. As a devoted wife to her late husband of 58 years, Kenneth John Flanders Sr., a loving mother to Judy Flanders Upton, Laurie Flanders Lescoe, Kenneth Flanders Jr., Kathy (Joe) Yarchak, Jamie Flanders Sypher, John (Chessie) Flanders and Ray (Tamara) Flanders and a cherished grandmother to Michael (Kevin) Upton, Jennifer (Francisco) Lescoe, Jeffery (Sandy) Lescoe, Ryan Flanders, Amanda (Josh) Slater, Jessica (Corey) Eubanks, Lauren (Dane) Bundy, Tony (Kristen) Krapf, Kristy Cornell, Mark Sypher Jr., Corey (Chelsea) Flanders, Dalton (Harli) Flanders, Landon Flanders, Tiffany (Troy) Kite, Whitney (Whitney) Flanders, Trinity Flanders, LJ (Sarah) Triest and 24 great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her sister Karol Lagasse, brother, Roger Elsemore and many other family members and friends who loved her dearly. In her 88 years, Laura created a legacy of love and togetherness with her seven children and 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren that will continue to inspire generations to come. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took pride in watching everyone grow and thrive. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind and the knowledge that her love will remain with us forever. She now rests in peace, reunited with those who have entered Heaven before her, her beloved husband, Kenneth John Flanders Sr., her mother, Florence Ann Cargan and Father, Rodney Woodman Elsemore Sr., Brother Rodney W. Elsemore Jr., Sister in Law, Mary Elsemore, Brother in Law, Joseph Lagasse. A celebration of life will be held at Fresh Start Fellowship on Friday January 17th at 11:00 am.
