Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South with Pastor Dan Davis officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Born December 27, 1922 in Texarkana, Texas, Mrs. Sparks died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida. She retired in 1996 after 31 years as a church secretary serving Glendale Community Church, and then Grace Fellowship Church. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Sellers Ward of Jacksonville; two sons, Mitchell Lee (Nancy) Sellers of Morganton, Georgia and Timothy Lynn Sellers of Jacksonville; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Sue (Bob) Thomas of Elgin, Texas; a brother, Thomas D. Mitchell of Texarkana, Texas; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
