Lavonia G. Melvin

Lavonia G. Melvin, 70, passed away on February 9, 2020 in Tennessee. She was born on May 7, 1949 in Gainesville, Florida. Lavonia worked in so many different fields in her life, but her love was with flowers. She could grow anything and had started a nursery. She will be greatly missed by her friends and her family. Lavonia was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Melvin; parents, Eva and Charles Geer; and brothers, Roy and Audie Geer. She is survived by her four brothers, Junior (Sheila), Larue (Charlie), Lannie (Teresa), and Aubrey; four sisters, Carmen (David), Marilyn (Junior), Shirley, and Tammie. She also had tons of nieces and nephews most of whom she was a major part of their lives. A graveside service will be held at Forest Meadows Central Cemetery, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606, on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:00am.
