Funeral services for Leland Wayne Hornback, 91, who passed away on June 3, 2014, will be held Friday at 11:00 A.M. from the graveside in Riverside Memorial Park (South) with Pastor Fidel Soto officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday (Today) from 6-8 P.M. at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mr. Hornback was born in Sigourney, Iowa and was a resident of Jacksonville, FL since the age of 19. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII and was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He had retired from Jefferson-Smurfit Corp. after 32 years of service as a Pipe Fitter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, the late Lena Mae Johnston Hornback.
