Mr. Leo "Buddy" Roy Bias age 86 passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born December 22, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Donald Leo and Ruth (Phillips) Bias. Mr. Bias earned his degree in pipefitting from Delgado Community College in New Orleans where he also retired as a Pipefitter from the local shipyard. He was raised Catholic, won numerous trophies from drag strip racing at Laplace Drag Strip in Laplace, Louisiana. He also enjoyed building and racing motorcycles and racecars. Buddy lived and enjoyed his life traveling all throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters Helen Denison and Elieen Barrios. Survivors are two daughters Yvonne Gonzalez and Tina Legendre. He was lovingly called "Grandpa Buddy" by grandchildren Jeremy Antonio Bias (Jaci Rae), Julian Ramon Martinez, Sotero Lazaro Gonzalez, Alina Camryn Gonzalez, Victoria Beasley, Monique Beasley, and Trinity Gervais along with great-grandchildren Adene Gonzalez, Alvin Banks James IV, Mila Martinez, Roena Martinez, Effie Bias, and Osee Bias with six additional great grandchildren.
