Leona R. Harrell

Leona Elizabeth (Roberts) Harrell passed away on December 19, 2018 at the age of 87. Leona was born on September 13, 1931 in Tallahassee, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Florrie Roberts and a grandson, Jim Luke West. Leona is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Haward Harrell of Jacksonville, FL; four children John H. (Diana) Harrell of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia (James) West of Brunswick, GA, Ronald L. (Maria) Harrell of Jacksonville, FL & William S. (Tracy) Harrell of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, John Ray (Amy) Roberts of Tallahassee, FL; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.Leona graduated from Leon County High School and shortly after her graduation became a military wife. She traveled to several locations with her husband and family until they retired and settled in Jacksonville, FL on April 1, 1969. Leona is a member of Franklin Street Baptist Church.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 22, 2018 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South.
