Leona Gornto Saucer, 74 of Starke died Dec. 4, 2010 at the Haven Hospice following a courageous battle with caner. She was born in Putnam Hall on Oct. 3, 1936 to the late Ted and Essie (Thagard) Gornto. Leona was a graduate of the Melrose High School, an inspector for Starke Uniform Company for 25 years and a Home Care Giver for the past 8 years until her illness. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Starke and for 40 years has been the faithful Nursery Attendant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Saucer in 1971. She is survived by her two sons, Terry Saucer (Ginger) of Waldo, Larry Saucer (Jennifer) of Maxville, two daughters, Janice Baldwin of Starke and Jane Green (Marty) of Raiford. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Gay of Starke and her 11 grandchildren; Derek, Darah, Aliya, Little Larry, Ashley, Buddy, Travis, Trenton, David, Douglas, Daniel. Visitation for Mrs. Saucer will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at 10 Oclock in the DeWitt C.
