Mr. Leonard Lenny Eugene Strickler 86, of Keystone Heights passed away Friday July 22, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville. Mr. Strickler was born in Granville, OH on December 5, 1924 and had served our country in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years. His services included World War II, Vietnam, and the Korean War. Mr. Strickler has been a resident of Keystone Heights since 2000 moving here from North Carolina and was a Parishioner of the St. William Catholic Church where he was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He is also a member of the Am Vets Post 86 of Keystone Heights, V.F. W, and was active with the Senior Center. Mr. Strickler is survived by his wife of 17 years, Frances (Ganey) of Keystone Heights; Children, Larry Strickler (Annette) of Belleview, NB, Pattie Poage of Keystone Heights, Leslie Smith (Susan) of Aurora, CO, and Jack Smith (Gail) of Parker, CO. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. Viewing for Mr. Strickler will be held at the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 5-7p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 10 Oclock in the St. William Catholic Church with Father Mike Williams presiding. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
