Leota Fay Sweeney passed away on October 24, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. A funeral service will be held on October 29, 2018 at 2PM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South Jacksonville, FL 32216 with Dr. David Lee of Highlands United Presbyterian Church officiating. Leota is preceded in death by her husband; Clarence E. "Bud" Sweeney. Leota is survived by her son Thomas (Cynthia) Sweeney of Jax, FL. Two grandsons; Shawn (Staci) Sweeney of St Johns, FL and Patrick Sweeney of Jax, FL; and two Great Grandsons; Colton and Bryson Sweeney both of St. Johns, FL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 28, 2018 between the hours of 4-6PM. Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in the afternoon at Festus Cemetery in Festus, Missouri.
