Mr. Leroy R. UrigMr. Leroy R. Urig age 78, of Lake City formerly of Starke passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. Mr. Urig was born on May 25, 1934 in Avon, Ohio to the late Leonard and Caroline (Guelker) Urig and moved to Starke in 1994 from Ohio. Prior to retirement he worked for the Ford Motor Company as a test engineer. He was a Methodist and attended Orange Creek Campville United Methodist Church. Leroy was preceded in death by his siblings: Jean Moran, Geraldine Slumski and Walter Urig. Survivors are his wife of 18 years Carolyn (Sutton) Urig of Lake City; daughters: Deborah Hobson of Morristown, TN; Ellen Fowler of Lake City; Connie Surface of Lithia; Norma Urig of Starke; Rhonda Toste of Sanford, NC; sons: Randy Urig of Jackson, TN; Ronald Urig of Sandusky, Ohio; Mark Urig of Burlington, NC; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Urig will be on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Keystone Heights Cemetery with Reverend Dennis White officiating.
