Lettie Lee Irene Pope Willis, 99, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 19, 2012. She was born on April 25, 1913, in St. Augustine. She moved to Green Cove Springs in August 1955. She was the daughter of Tonnie Elemon Pope and Rennie Elizabeth Smith Pope. She was married to Edmond Richard Willis, who predeceased her in 1993, after being married 63 years. Mrs. Willis is survived by all of her nine children Edmond Sonny Willis (Mary), Carlton Willis (Gayle), Leon Willis (Delcie), Juanita Pascak (Frank), Richard Willis (Barbara), Kenneth Willis (Delama), Wanda Martin (Ed), Vernon Willis, and Ronny Willis (Hattie); 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 11 great great-grandchildren. Mrs. Willis attended First Baptist Church of Green Cove Springs, where she was a Sunday School teacher for 37 years. She was a member of the Womens Missionary Union. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Helm Gallagher Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs.
