Lewis "Keko" William Cozene

Lewis "Keko" William Cozene, age 80, of Melrose passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. He was born on July 27, 1937 in Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, William Lewis Cozene and grandson Jessy Pitts. Keko is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anita (Laney) Cozene; daughter Lis Cozene of Tampa and daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Tony Pitts of Deepstep, GA, granddaughter Shannon (Pitts) Shaner of Croton-on-Avon, NY; mother Lois (Weeks) Chichester of Fruit Cove; sister Priscilla Cozene of Jacksonville; brother Merrill "Mickey" Epperson of Jacksonville and sister Patricia "Pat" Hicks of Jacksonville.Keko worked as a plumber/welder and was a member of the plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 234. He was a recreational pilot and enjoyed building projects and writing poems for friends and neighbors. He liked western movies and had many hobbies including lampworking model airplanes and photography. He loved treasure hunting and especially looking for gold in Arizona. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Stephens officiating.
